Why 7 Habits?

Tom Billings, UBA Executive Director

Tom Billings

 UBA Executive Director

Of all the training experiences I’ve had in the last 25 years (and there have been many), none has had a greater impact on my life and ministry than 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Even though I had already ready Stephen Covey’s book, the training proved invaluable in helping me understand and incorporate the practices in my daily routine.

I was so impressed I became a certified 7 Habits facilitator. The 7 Habits are not the newest leadership craze. In fact, they're not new at all. They are fundamental, foundational, time-tested and proven effective. That's why I continue to offer them.

Over the last 20+ years I have led numerous seminars and have introduced the 7 Habits to countless pastors, church leaders, DOMs and state convention staff.

Everyone on the UBA staff has been through the training at least twice. We have found training as a team is a great way to do it. So I would encourage you to consider signing up at least your key staff members and bringing them with you.

Covey does not offer easy, quick solutions for the complex and challenging task of leadership. He offers seven "habits" which, if adopted, can help any person become more effective personally and as a leader.

The purpose of the 7 Habits workshop is to make you -- the leader -- more effective so you, in turn, can make the church or ministry you lead more productive.

Through a special relationship with FranklinCovey, UBA is able to offer this training at a greatly reduced cost compared to commercial / business rates.
