The Jester 3 unit conducted a 2 and a half day lock-in called The Freedom Weekend. One hundred and twenty inmates along with as many as twenty volunteers from 8 Houston churches encountered the presence of God that swept through the entire unit. Inmates encountered a dramatic experience that completely changed the course of their lives.
Fifty Five graduates of the Organic Church training program invited men who participated in their Life Change Groups to attend the Lock-in. The results were manifested in transformed lives—lives that were saved, forgiven of sin, set free, and healed by the power of the living God, Jesus Christ the Lord!
On Sunday, family members of the participants were allowed to attend a service that was hosted by the graduates of the House Church training program. Cedric P. (Wynne Unit House Church graduate) and Jeremiah B. preached dynamic messages while Retired Warden Vernon Pittman of the Wynne Unit and Organic House Church trainer, John Moore of Houston’s First Baptist, led participants to worship. It was an amazing day.
Fifteen men were baptized and 60 signed up to participate in the next House Church training program that begins in June. It’s like pouring New Wine into New Wine Skins, The Prison Church.
