Margie Randall, previously a missionary under appointment to the International Mission Board, returned to Houston a few years ago.  During her years as a missionary she had been impressed to pray for the people of Bhutan although she knew no Bhutanese people at the time and had to look the country up on the map.  Upon her return to Houston, she was delighted to find that God had brought the Bhutanese people to her.  She is now affectionately known as "Mom" to many of the Bhutanese refugees living in Southwest Houston.  During a recent Sunday, the Caanan Bhutanese Church celebrated the new birth of several refugess to whom they had been ministering.  Here is Margie's account:

"The last Sunday in January, seven people were "reborn" and passed from darkness to light at the Caanan Bhutanese church.  The next Sunday two more people accepted the free gift of eternal life.  The most recent two were in the group the Sunday before who heard about the 4 spiritual laws and the story of the woman at the well. They then decided to come to church to accept the free offer of 'living water'.

So, a total of nine Bhutanese joined the "family of God" and passed from darkness to light in two weeks.  The power of the Holy Spirit to convict and transform, never ceases to amaze me. Salvation is always a process and I know that many, many people along the way have prayed, sown seeds of God's Word, watered seeds, etc. and I was fortunate enough to be there to see the fruit of their labors.

PRAYER FOR NEW BELIEVERS:  Father, may our new Family members be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that they may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing to You, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of You.  May they be strengthened with all power, according to Your glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to You who has enabled them to share in the saints inheritance in the light.  Thank you for rescuing them from the domain of darkness and transferring them into the kingdom of Your Son. Amen (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

 RELATIONAL EVANGELISM:
Last Friday and Saturday I spent hours trying to help a young 14 year old Bhutanese save his computer from a virus.  As I sat in his home, we struck up a conversation.  He loves science and math so if anyone has a Hugh Ross DVD (or similar) I can borrow, please let me know.  Relational evangelism is tiring, hard work, and does not always bear fruit, but it has been my experience that Jesus will make me a "fisher of men", if I make myself available to Him.

Thank you for praying
