The Hard Work of Revitalization

The Hard Work of Revitalization

What happens to a church when a community transitions? Many die. Gulf Drive Baptist Church is now a Hare Krishna temple. Woodland Baptist Church became Annise Parker's campaign headquarters for a time. Today it's loft apartments. An HEB parking lot now stands where Woodridge Baptist Church once stood.

But that’s not always the case. Faith Memorial Baptist Church was headed toward a similar fate when Andrew Johnson became her pastor. Today it is a vibrant, energized congregation reaching its multiethnic community for Christ.

UBA Executive Director, Dr. Tom Billings, and UBA Associate Director, Dr. Josh Ellis, interviewed Pastor Andrew Johnson and Minister Buddy Griffin to learn what can be done to help dying churches in Houston.

Video of interview coming soon and will be posted here.
