Becoming More Resilient in 2024

Ministry is a unique calling that requires attention to your people, your community, and your own soul.

This video highlights our 2023 resilient retreat, which is one part of UBA’s resilient pathway. Here are other ways you can connect with the resilient pathway this year:

Monthly Pastor Groups: We know that ministry can’t be done alone, and a key part of resilience is having friends and co-laborers walk alongside you. What if Houston became a city known for pastors who supported one another? Our monthly pastor groups are designed to connect pastors regionally for regular encouragement.

Quarterly Gatherings: Each quarter, we’ll gather for a free luncheon at our offices 11:30am - 1 pm to discuss resilience with experts in their field.

  1. January 23 — Stuart Rothberg from Sagemont. Join us as Stuart shares wisdom and tools from his 50+ years of ministry experience. Register now; these events tend to fill up quickly.

  2. April 16 — Terry Walling from Leader Breakthru

  3. August 20 —Chuck Lawless from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary

  4. October 10 — Chuck DeGroat, Professor of Counseling and Christian Spirituality and Executive Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Western Theological Seminary.

6-month Resilient Cohorts: This year, we will have two cohorts based regionally in the North and South of the greater Houston area. If you’re interested in joining one of these groups, email Kevin Abbott.

Individualized Coaching: UBA Church Consultants offer individual coaching to our pastors and leaders. With their experience and training in a variety of contexts, we can walk alongside you to help you last in ministry.
