How Can Churches Serve Refugee Populations?

It’s easy to become overwhelmed by statistics of refugees in need, but churches are making a difference one family at a time.

The Delgados, a refugee family from Venezuela, are thriving in the U.S. today because a Good Neighbor Team from Sugar Land Baptist Church said “yes”.

Watch this video to hear their story.

Sugarland Baptist came together to welcome two refugee families, including the Delgado family from Venezuela, helping them find safety and stability in a new home.

Without compassionate partners like Sugarland Baptist Church, the Delgados might still be struggling today. The church’s team welcomed the family upon arrival and helped them resettle. And when federal funds meant to support them during their first 90 days in the U.S. were suddenly cut, leaving the family at risk of homelessness, the church stepped in again.

This story reminds us that hope grows when we say “yes”. Yes to welcome, yes to compassion, and yes to justice. Small acts of obedience and service can mean the world to a refugee family in need.

You can be part of that same story.
