Union Baptist Association ("UBA," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information through www.ubahouston.org, our website forms, and related email and text communications. It also explains your choices about your information.

Please provide only information relevant to your request. Do not submit payment card numbers or other highly sensitive information through general website forms.

Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace and embedded service providers may automatically collect technical information, such as IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited, and interaction data, through cookies and similar technologies. We use Squarespace’s built-in website analytics and do not use separate analytics platforms.

How We Use Information

We use information to respond to inquiries, maintain church and ministry contacts, administer events and programs, provide requested resources, send newsletters and ministry communications, manage communication preferences, operate and improve our website, maintain records, and meet legal obligations. We use mobile numbers for recurring event and ministry texts when you have opted into that program.

Service Providers and Disclosures

We use service providers to operate our website and communications, including Squarespace for website hosting, HubSpot for forms, contact management and email communications, and Sakari for text messaging. These providers process information as needed to perform services for UBA. Giving services are provided through a third-party giving platform.

We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of UBA, our website, or others. These disclosures do not authorize another organization to use your information for its own marketing.

Mobile Information and Text Message Consent

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Any other mentions in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. If you wish to be removed from receiving future communications, you can opt out by texting STOP.

UBA texts include upcoming event information, invitations, reminders, and periodic ministry updates. Message frequency varies, typically four to six messages per month. Email and Other Communication Choices

You may unsubscribe from newsletters and promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting info@ubahouston.org. Unsubscribing from email does not automatically unsubscribe you from texts, and opting out of texts does not automatically unsubscribe you from email. We may still send necessary non-promotional communications relating to a request, registration, or transaction.

Cookies and Website Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Our website and embedded services may use cookies or similar technologies for functionality, security, and website usage measurement. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and, where available, website cookie controls. Blocking cookies may affect some website features.

Donations and External Services

Online gifts are processed through a third-party giving platform. Information you submit directly to that platform is handled under its privacy policy and terms. UBA may receive donor contact information and transaction details needed for gift administration, acknowledgments, and records. Review the giving platform’s policies before submitting payment information. Other external websites linked from our site have their own policies, which UBA does not control.

Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including ministry relationships, program administration, recordkeeping, and legal requirements. We may retain limited consent and opt-out records to document communication preferences and avoid contacting people who have unsubscribed. We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no electronic system or transmission is completely secure.

Your Information and Children

You may contact info@ubahouston.org to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to change your communication preferences. We may need to verify your identity. Some information may need to be retained for legal requirements, recordkeeping, or honoring opt-out requests. We will honor privacy rights that apply under applicable law.

Our website forms are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so we can address it and delete it as appropriate.
