Churches Work Together to House, Fill, and Move The Compassion Center

The Compassion Center (TCC) at Mission Centers of Houston has been a success, and we are so grateful for those who have already helped! From the very beginning, Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist allowed The Compassion Center to use their gymnasium as a temporary warehouse space to store goods for the community.

Over the past year, TCC has acquired nearly a half million dollars worth of donated goods to be stored at Pleasant Grove. But this fall, we needed to move those goods from the gym to the Joy Center.

This was going to be a monumental task for the MCH staff!

We are so excited for the future of The Compassion Center as we partner with churches to impact Houston with the gospel.

On September 23rd, Churches in The Compassion Center network stepped up in a big way to help us with the move.

Seven different churches brought 30 volunteers to move most of the warehouse contents from Pleasant Grove to the Joy Center. And we completed the work in about 3 hours!

There is no way this could have happened without these churches giving 100 hours of collective volunteer work. Thank you!

As we get settled into our new space, there’s still a lot of organizing and sorting to help us set up. We are so excited for the future of the Compassion Center as we continue to partner with churches to impact Houston with the gospel!
